Installing a drain plug on DE1 v1 drip tray

Installing a drain plug

v1 ceramic drip trays are sold with a drain hole, and without a hole.

You can save money by buying just the version with a hole, and plugging it with the parts we provide. Then, when you want it to drain, remove the plug.

This video shows how.

Steps:

  • insert the silicone washer to screw
  • put the screw into the drip tray (front side)
  • insert the silicone washer to drip tray (back side)
  • tightening the nut by hand or tools until the nut is going flat to the bottom thread of the screw
  • warning: over-tightening might damage the silicone washer
